As amphibious warfare plays a large part in many Tribal attacks, they often find themselves vulnerable to submarine attacks. One of the larger ta’keshi warship manufacturers noticed this, and began to design a warship built from the ground up for anti-submarine warfare.
The Vengeance-class measures 80 meters long, and is heavily armed. It carries two triple 475mm cannons as its primary antiship weapons, used for dueling enemy warships and bombarding shore targets.
For tackling its primary target, it has a plethora of anti-submersible weapons at its disposal. Two forward torpedo tubes are used to sink full-sized submarines, while three barb turrets can be deployed from the lower hull, firing high velocity explosive-tipped spears for destroying sub-fighters and incoming torpedoes.
Point defenses consist of four 60mm autocannons, which can fire either AP or flak shells depending on the target. Other than that, the Vengeance-class lacks any form of active defenses, relying entirely on its composite armor plating to absorb fire.
Vengeance-class ships are found on most heavily fortified ta’keshi worlds. They are uniquely defensive in nature, an oddity for tribal war machines. They provide protection from submersibles, aircraft, and warships.
