Developed in response to the ISP’s build up of their own maritime navy, the Unity-class was designed from the ground up to destroy other aquatic warships. It boasts a deadly armament, sturdy defenses, and a surprising degree of speed for such a large vessel.
At 300 meters in length, the Unity is huge for a maritime warship. It is covered in nearly two feet of graphene armor, and has a powerful polarity shield to boot, making it about as durable as a Mosquito-class Corvette. And yet, despite all of this mass, the ship can attain a top speed of 40 knots.
The Unity’s armament consists of two types of VLS missile cells. The primary weapons consist of two six-tube antiship missile launcher; the same kind used aboard Commonwealth starships. The other is a twenty cell Deterrence missile launcher pad, used as a supplemental weapon during naval engagements, and to bombard shore targets. For defensive measures, the Unity carries four 20-cell PD missile pods and six 60 mm dual sand cannons.
Capable of smashing enemy vessels at long range, the Unity is a dangerous warship against both wet naval assets and starships. Its introduction has prompted other nations to begin building up their own naval forces in order to counter the threat it presents.
