Ta’keshi infantry are a force to be reckoned with. Ta’kesh are massive, strong, and resilient, and make for remarkable frontline infantry. They are brutal, savage fighters, who love the thrill of combat.
Warriors, in addition to their naturally thick hide and redundant organs, wear composite steel and depleted uranium armor plating, making them exceptionally hard to kill. They aren’t physcially very fast, but they make up for their sluggishness with strength and durability.
Ta’kesh use powerful, if primitive, small arms. The most common infantry rifle among the tribes is a 34mm semi-automatic cannon, referred to as a Thumper for the percussive noise they make when firing. This deadly weapon can compete with even the most powerful, advanced energy weapons of other races. Their small arms are simlarly deadly, referred to as “Mini-Thumpers;” these weapons are radically different from the handguns used by other races, almost like small stockless carbines with pistol grips.
Ta’keshi melee weapons tend to vary, not just from tibe to tribe, but warrior to warrior. A ta’kesh takes great pride in hand-crafting their own close-combat weapon. They can range from swords and axes, to even staffs and pikes. Lacking the advanced technology and sophisticated construction techniques of other races, warriors rely on their brute strength to make their weapons effective.
Instead of hand-thrown grenades, warriors make use of shoulder-mounted 75mm mortars capable of firing anti-personnel shrapnel shells or anti-tank AP shells. These mortars far outrange most grenades, but they are difficult to properly aim. Results tend to vary with each shot.
Ta’keshi tribal warriors are ruthless on the battlefield, and are more than a match for even the footsoldiers of more advanced races, such as the kellar and the rai. Hordes of these monstrous soldiers can overwhelm a settlement’s defenses with ease, and are a fearsome foe for anyone to have to deal with.
