The Python puts an interesting spin on the idea of mobile artillery. Instead of mounting the weapon on a slow, heavily armored vehicle, it was instead mounted on the chassis of the Wolf tank, creating a fast, maneuverable artillery vehicle that can actively avoid counter battery fire.
As they share the same chassis, the Python has durability on par with that of the Wolf. Its armor and shields are fairly light, but it makes up for it with its amazing agility. The Python can reach a top speed of 164 miles per hour, and can accelerate in any direction thanks to its bottom-mounted impulse drives. The extra weight of its missiles prevents the Python from attaining the same top speeds as its cousin, but it is still blindingly fast compared to other artillery tanks.
The Python is armed with 10 Claymore long range missiles. Though they are weaker and shorter ranged than the peer weapons used by other factions, the Python’s ability to rapidly close with the enemy, and just as quickly disengage after firing, more than make up for this shortcoming.
This revolutionary tank has proven brutally effective in the few large-scale battles it has been deployed in, and is beginning to set a new standard for what makes an effective artillery piece.
