One of the most common sights on the streets of Commonwealth cities is the Panther Assault Vehicle. As the primary mode of ground transportation for Enforcer squads and the mainline combat vehicle of the Commonwealth Army, the Panther regularly sees action against enemies of the state, and has proven itself to be a reliable and hardy vehicle.
The Panther is an eight wheeled armored personnel carrier capable of reaching speeds of up to 75 miles per hour and carrying up to six Enforcers in its passenger compartment. Panthers are the primary means by which Enforcers are deployed, and are often the first Commonwealth military units to arrive on scene in case of insurrection.
In addition to their transportation duties, they are the primary ground assault vehicle of the Commonwealth Army, tasked with fulfilling anti-vehicle duties.. To this end, they are equipped with 20 Crusher anti-tank missiles, used to destroy armored vehicles and hardened static targets. For defensive measures, they are equipped with a pintle-mounted anti-infantry gyro turret, used to provide covering fire to disembarking Enforcers in the heat of combat.
The Panther is ubiquitous in Commonwealth territory, and an ever-present reminder of the Commonwealth’s ability to deliver forces to any given point at any given time. Their mere presence tends to stop more riots then their weapons or troops ever do.
