The Messenger is the primary form of ground transport for Triumvirate troops. A very basic vehicle with a very basic function, the Messenger gets its job done efficiently, giving its operators no fuss, and no reason to complain.
Propelled by an anti-gravity engine mounted beneath its chassis, the Messenger can reach a top speed of 80 miles per hour, allowing it to quickly get troops from one point to another. However, it is not paricularly maneuverable, due to a poorly designed thruster layout, and therefore cannot use its speed to avoid enemy fire in tight areas.
It has moderate armor and shields, allowing it to shrug off small arms fire with ease, and even absorb limited anti-tank fire. It is armed with a single remote operated medium ion beam turret for covering its passengers as they deploy, but other than that, the Messenger has no means of offense.
The Messenger can hold up to 20 Marines in its passenger compartment. The rear of the vehicle opens up for deployment, so the transport will often move forward into enemy fire while its troops hop out the back and use their ride as cover.
While it is not particularly well-suited for large-scale combat involving enemy vehicles, the Messenger nonetheless performs admirably in the usual duties carried out by Triumvirate forces.
