The Light Reconnaissance Fighter, or LRF, is the Triumvirate’s most effective means of patrolling the galaxy’s trade routes. It is primarily meant for observation, but it can handle limited combat duties as well.
With a top acceleration of 1,122 G’s, the LRF can outrun nearly any fighter in the galaxy. Its small size makes it highly maneuverable, though Triumvirate maneuvering thrusters aren’t as effective as the impulse thrusters used by most other nations’ fighters.
The LRF is lightly armored and shielded, as it is only designed for light interdiction duties, rather than full-on combat. It is armed with a pair of light proton bolt cannons for dogfighting, but lacks the heavier armaments of more dedicated fightercraft, such as missiles.
The LRF’s biggest strength is its sophisticated sensor suite, which allows it to keep track of everything going on in its vicinity. It has gravitic, thermal, LADAR, and density sensors, allowing it to even detect some forms of stealth craft.
The LRF acts as the eyes and ears of the Triumvirate, keeping them informed of all activity along their trade routes. They are what enables them to rapidly respond to criminal incursions against their merchants and traders, safeguarding the lifeblood of the Triumvirate’s vital commerce.
