Used for riverine intervention and patrol, the Kingfisher is a small, speedy patrol boat built to supplement larger Triumvirate aquatic warships. It is also used for stealth deployment of AWSO’s, the Triumvirate’s special forces, along coastlines and riverways.
The Kingfisher is built for speed, outfitted with a powerful impulse engine and streamlined for minimal water resistance. It has a maximum speed of 90 knots, and can perform rapid hit-and-run strikes on enemy targets while avoiding return fire. They lack shields or heavy armor, and are unable to take much fire.
The Kingfisher’s primary weapon is a semi-automatic proton bolt cannon. This weapon can lay waste to light vehicles and infantry under torrents of fire. However, against armored targets like tanks or warships, the weapon is fairly ineffective, requiring sustained fire to deal meaningful damage.
For dealing with enemy warships, the Kingfisher carries two heavy torpedoes. These powerful weapons are capable of dealing critical damage to even the heaviest maritime vessels; a salvo from a squadron of these boats can bring down a carrier or a battleship.
These versatile craft perform a variety of iportant roles in the Triumvirate’s maritime forces, and can be found at all Triumvirate shore bases.
