In response to increased attacks by chi’tai and ta’keshi raiders, the Triumvirate has begun building larger starships for their navy, as their Assurance-class Heavy Cruisers have proven insufficient for dealing with the supercapital classes often fielded by more aggressive factions. The Justifier-class was the first result of this directive, and is quickly becoming a favorite of Triumvirate admirals.
Measuring 5,650 meters in length, the Justifier nearly as large as the more advanced Collective Hope-class, and outmasses its peer, the Republic Contemptor-class. It is equipped with heavy energy shielding that can stand up to sustained bombardment from multiple enemy capital ships, and has thick carbyne armor built to withstand heavy damage.
The Justifier is a purebred ship-of-the-line, and as such, carries a hefty broadside armament. Armed with 34 capital ion lance cannons and 38 capital proton bolt cannons, it can go gun-to-gun with any peer ship, and even some heavier battlecruisers. In terms of defensive armament, it carries 120 light proton bolt turrets and 100 ion beam turrets, giving it heavy anti-fighter coverage.
Equipped with a set of unusually powerful engines, the Justifier has a maximum acceleration of 4.1 G’s, allowing it to outrun all but the most advanced battlecruisers. In addition, its efficient and highly accurate jump drive can be used to gain a tactical positioning advantage, even in the heat of battle.
As these vessels see more and more action against the Triumvirate’s aggressors, they prove the value of having a handful of powerful capital ships available for tackling serious threats. The Justifier’s introduction may just be the catalyst for an entirely new naval warfare doctrine for the nation’s traditionally scaled-back navy.
