Covered from head to toe in a set of massive power armor, Support Troopers resemble vaguely human-shaped tanks more than actual infantry. Responsible for handling the heavy weapons in ISP infantry teams, Support Troopers can unleash and absorb high amounts of fire.
The Support Trooper’s most distinguishing feature is their Rhino-class Powered Armor. While most examples of power armor generally increase all of the wearer’s physical abilities, the Rhino focuses solely on strength. A Support Trooper in full kit can deadlift two tons, and can kill unprotected enemies with a casual slap. It takes two years of training to properly hone the skills necessary to operate the armor without putting allies at risk. Covered in three inch ballistic plates with additional ablative layers, Support Troopers are practically bulletproof, capable of wading through enemy fire like a light breeze.
They are trained with two different types of weapons, the first being the M100 Support Weapon, a 20 mm belt-fed machine gun used to suppress hostiles and lay down covering fire for friendly soldiers. The second weapon is the AT60 railcannon, a handheld anti-armor railgun capable of firing 90 mm APFSDS rounds at hypervelocity. They carry M12 sidearms in case they lose their primary weapon, or come upon an enemy that their weapons would be unwieldly against.
Charged with protecting friendly troops and neutralizing hostile vehicles, these behemoth soldiers are a critical part of ISP small unit tactics. ISP infantry always breathe a sigh of relief when the hulking form of a Support Trooper lumbers its way into their ranks.
