Given the Commonwealth’s propensity for missile-based weaponry, the military leaders of the ISP have always put special emphasis on point defense and missile interdiction. The Instigator is a simple method of drastically improving defenses with minimum effort.
This unmanned craft has simple programming that puts it on preassigned patrol routes, searching for viable targets such as fighter craft and guided ordnance. It carries an experimental laser pod capable of sniping targets from extreme distances, along with a 30mm machine gun for self-defense.
The Instigator lacks shields and has only token armor, as it is not meant for frontline combat. It is, however, extremely agile thanks to its small size and powerful engines. With a maximum acceleration of 713 G’s, it can keep its distance from enemy fighters with little issue.
An important part of the Persean navy’s defensive network, these drone fighters are almost always incorporated into the complements of carriers and defensive stations throughout the fleet. Their utility is indispensable, and despite their relatively high cost, their long life expectancy makes them a fixture of the ISP’s aerospace corps.
