Another example of warships designed for psychological warfare, the Implacable-class is a powerful Commonwealth vessel used to guard important worlds. It is a devastating capital ship in a straight fight, capable of tackling small fleets on its own.
At 9,700 meters, the Implacable is a massive starship, second only in the Commonwealth Navy to the Regent-class. It has thick graphene armor plating and powerful polarity shields, allowing it to trade heavy fire with multiple heavy capital ships at once and hold its own. Point defenses consist of 700 60 mm scattercannons and 300 20-cell missile pods.
In terms of firepower, it carries 180 six-tube antiship missile launchers, and is equipped with a spinal-mounted 2,000 mm mass driver cannon. Its long range firepower allows it to hammer opponents at range, keeping itself at a relatively safe distance. However, their large size prevents them from being able to maintain such a distance, as they are only able to reach 1.7 G’s.
The Implacable-class is a deadly combatant, clearly created for fleet-on-fleet combat, and not for running down pirates and smugglers. Such powerful starships are uncommon among Commonwealth fleets, but the few there are add enormous potential to their navy.
