While the Kruger is the most popular vehicular combat unit among the Tribes, the Hyena is a useful addition to tribal strike forces. Hyenas are useful for providing supporting fire to both larger vehicles and infantry.
The Hyena is a primitive hovercraft, using an air cushion and light turbine thrusters for propulsion. The craft’s inflatable “skirt” is protected by a thick armor belt, to prevent it from being immobilized by a tear or hole. Even if the skirt is punctured, it features a self-fixing reinflation gel that plugs holes and rips. The skirt is made of an extremely druable carbon material, allowing it to traverse rough terrain, and making it a full-fledged all-terrain ground vehicle.
It has a top speed of 95 miles per hour, and has maneuverability matching that of impulse and anti-gravity hovercraft used by other factions. It makes for an excellent urban assault vehicle, able to swing around corners with ease, and race down streets at breakneck speeds.
The Hyena’s primary weapon is a dual-barreled 60mm autocannon mounted on a revolving dorsal turret. This cannon can fire armor piercing and shrapnel-load shells, allowing it to engage both vehicles and infantry. It is somewhat lightly armored in order to save weight for increased speed.
The Hyena is an effective support vehicle, able to work both as a force multiplier for infantry and as an escort for other vehicles. It is a versatile and deadly machine, despite its simplicity.
