Not all weapons used by the Tribes are manufactured. Ta’kesh possess a natural ingenuity when it comes to war, and have mastered the gifts their home planet has bestowed upon them. One such gift is the massive goll’tah, a herbivorous creature native to Tyris’ savannahs and fields.
Goll’tah are one of the most powerful creatures on Tyris’ surface, a feat in and of itself given the ferocious species the planet plays host to. They have evolved to be able to square off against deadly super predators that share their habitats.
The average goll’tah stands 13 feet tall at its shoulders, and can reach nearly 40 feet from snout to tail. They are quadrupedal, with powerful, muscular legs capable of propelling them forward at an average of 33 miles per hour.
They have thick natural armor plating, which allows them to shrug off weapons fire, and even withstand a tank shell or two. With their powerful legs and tails, the beasts can smash armored vehicles and overturn MBT equivalents.
Often ridden by skilled ta’keshi handlers into battle, goll’tah are sometimes outfitted with mounted weaponry, depending on how large the individual is. Everything from machine guns and shrapnel cannons to large autocannons and mortars have been grafted to the backs of goll’tah.
Used as a sort of biological main battle tank, these beasts will often take part in vehicle charges, galloping into battle ahead of traditional vehicles to smash the enemy lines. Their reckless attacks can be costly, but can also devastate enemy forces early into combat.
