The largest and most powerful ground vehicle in the Commonwealth arsenal, the Executioner is a terrifying sight to behold. Used primarily for anti-starship defense, the siege tank is heavily armed and armored enough to duel interstellar corvettes, and in large numbers can even challenge frigates and small cruisers. The Executioner is the Commonwealth army’s ultimate expression of power.
A gargantuan vehicle, it measures 130 meters long and 85 meters wide. Sheathed in starship-grade graphene armor plating, the Executioner is capable of taking several vollies of fire from capital-grade weapons before being destroyed. Against conventional gound forces, it is practically unstoppable, able to take on entire armies at a time.
The Executioner’s primary weapon is a massive, 1,200 mm railgun mounted on a central turret. This massive cannon is capable of hitting orbital starships, and delivers tremendous punch, on par with most orbital defense weapons. The energy delivered by the depleted uranium slug is roughly equivalent to 9.8 gigatons of TNT.
In addition to the awesome weapon, the Executioner has secondary and tertiary missile batteries for smaller scale combat, and to support its primary weapon. It is equipped with eight Deterence long range missile VLS cells, mainly used for ground combat, and two six tube anti-ship missile launchers, for use against starships. For defense, it is equipped with heavy point defense systems, consisting of ten particle railguns, also known as sand cannons, and four point defense missile pods.
Though rare, and mostly useless for most of the Commonwealth’s actual combat needs, the Executioner performs its intended purpose well. The mere presence of one of these monstrous tanks on a planet can be enough to discourage dissidents from taking action.
