Though the ISP generally tries to avoid contact with other races, they do understand that they are woefully outmatched by most other factions on a technological level. Many weapons manufacturers are beginning to lament the limited technology they have to work with, and have been pleading with trade heads to allow the purchase of foreign technology from other nations.
Such appeals have finally paid off with the introduction of the Wave Bike. Using impulse technology provided by sestan traders, Michaels Defense Inc. has created the first human-built hover vehicle. based on old quad bike designs, the Blitz retains the same basic shape as the quads, but replaces the four rubber wheels with a series of small impulse drives, which work in sync to push the bike off of the ground.
Unlike more advanced hover bikes, which have a single impulse engine to lift the bike, the Blitz uses six diagonally facing emitters which produce a cascading impulse field rather than a more stable one, hence the name “Wave Bike.” While this type of bike is far more difficult to control, a skilled rider will find it actually handles far better than a traditional static impulse design.
With a top speed of 233 miles per hour, the Blitz is far superior to any other human design, able to outrun and outmaneuver conventional wheeled designs with contemptuous ease. Armed with a pair of integrated M50 rifles, the Blitz can be used to deadly effect in combat, its agility allowing it to flank enemy forces and tear into them with a deadly hail of fire.
The Blitz is often utilized by elite ISP Pathfinders, highly trained explorers of the Expeditionary forces. Though the alien technology has suffered some cases of unreliability, the advantages offered make it a favorite of many in the ISP army.
