While the Triumvirate military rarely deals with well-equipped enemies, military strategists still recognize the need to be prepared for combat against an actual nation. To that end, the Atlas Heavy Tank was commissioned, serving as the Triumvirate’s primary armored combat vehicle.
As with all Triumvirate vehicles, the Atlas is a hover vehicle. Unlike most nations, who use impulse drives supplied by the terons, the Triumvirate use their own anti-gravity tech to power their vehicles. The Atlas has a top speed of 50 miles per hour, and demonstrates exceptional maneuverability for such a bulky vehicle.
The Atlas is heavily armed, even for a main battle tank. It carries two heavy proton bolt cannons as its primary weapons, mounted on either side of a revolving turret. These cannons fire bursts of energized protons, which explode with deadly force and release lethal doses of short-lived radiation. In addition, it is armed with a mortar launcher, firing anti-armor and anti-personnel warheads in a ballistic arc.
The Atlas is heavily armored, coated in several inches of carbyne armor plating. In addition, it has a heavy energy shield generator to increase its durability even further. To defend itself against infantry, it is equipped with a medium ion beam turret, useful for sweeping away hard-to-reach attackers.
The Atlas rarely finds itself deployed to the front lines of the Triumvirate’s battlefields, but it serves as a strong message for any who wish to challenge the full might of their military.
