The Assurance-class is the largest escort ship in the Triumvirate Navy, acting as their mainline warship. While it lacks the raw offensive power of the Ultimatum-class, its versatility and durability make the Assurance a deadly ship in its own right.
At 3,500 meters in length, the Assurance is massive for a cruiser. It has thick grapheme armor plating and exceptionally powerful energy shields, giving it impressive durability. Of course, this bulk slows the ship down considerably; it only has a top acceleration of 4.5 G’s, slower than even primitive cruisers.
The Assurance packs a heavy armament, consisting of 6 capital ion lances, and 20 capital proton bolt cannons. Such an armament rivals most dreadnoughts, and allows these ships to punch way above their weight class. For point defense, they pack 46 light proton bolt cannons and 30 ion beam turrets, capable of wiping out enemy fighter squadrons and missile volleys with ease.
Making up the bulk of the Triumvirate fleet, the Assurance-class was designed to be as powerful as possible for its cost. While it lacks the strength of heavier capital ships, the Assurance is built in far larger numbers, allowing them to make up for the quality gap with quantity.
